I went away for three months to an inpatient drug rehab. This has been the single most important decision that I ever made. I am now awake to the concerns of my children. I had been a heavy drinker for over eight years, after the birth of my second child, my only daughter.
I finally felt like this behavior had to end, I wanted to cleanse myself from alcohol once and for all. Going away to a California drug rehab center was the only way that I felt would be effective for me. The doctors and nurses and professionals are all extremely educated and were able to relate with me and made my visit comfortable.
Being able to recognize your problem is a healthy step. Having the courage to realize that you need professional help is another difficult step. But there are drug rehabs out there that are proven to help. Ultimately the decision comes down to you, but if you were like me and had a family to support, the decision shouldn’t be that difficult.
